Arrenca NERRI, un nou projecte europeu sobre “neuromillora” i investigació responsable, en el qual participa l’OCC-UPF

NERRI, Neuroenhancement Responsible Research and Innovation, és un projecte de 3 anys de durada (2013-15), finançat per la Comissió Europea en el 7è Programa Marc. El projecte, que acaba d’iniciar el seu camí en una primera reunió a Cascais (Portugal), té el propòsit d’aplicar el concepte de “recerca i innovació responsables” (RRI, per les sigles en anglès responsible research and innovation) a un camp molt nou de la investigació sobre el qual estan dipositades moltes expectatives però que alhora genera molt debat: l’anomenada “neuromillora” (neuroenhancement).

NERRI, Neuroenhancement Responsible Research and Innovation, es un proyecto de 3 años de duración (2013-15), financiado por la Comisión Europea en el 7º Programa Marco. El proyecto, que acaba de iniciar su andadura en una primera reunión en Cascais (Portugal), tiene el propósito de aplicar el concepto de “investigación e innovación responsables” (RRI, por sus siglas en inglés “responsible research and innovation”) a un campo muy nuevo de la investigación sobre el que están depositadas muchas expectativas pero que a la vez genera mucho debate: la denominada “neuromejora” (neuroenhancement).

The purpose of the book is to inspire science communicators by presenting interesting ideas and projects and hopefully to change the way of thinking in science communication in order to achieve a quantum leap in the way science and its ambassadors are thought of by society.

La Ciència Al Teu Món, nova plataforma de divulgació científica per a joves

Un equip d’investigadors de l’Institut de Biologia Evolutiva (IBE), coordinats per la científica Josefa González, han creat la plataforma de divulgació La Ciència Al Teu Món, amb l’objectiu de transmetre, des de la ciència, els valors necessaris per construir una societat oberta, competitiva i amb visió de futur a partir del raonament, amb una perspectiva oberta, tolerant i de respecte per l’evidència. Aquesta iniciativa vol mostrar  als joves la importància i les implicacions de la ciència en la seva vida quotidiana.

30 fellowships for the 4th International School of Science Journalism & Communication

The theme of the 4^th edition of the International School of Science Journalism & Communication 2013 is Brain imaging and cognitive neuroscience. It will take place between May 26 to May 28 at Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice (Sicily, Italy).

The School is based on lectures, working sessions and other activities held by international experts that will present the state-of-the-art of Cognitive Neuroscience, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and other frontier topics, while science journalists will work out the challenges from their perspective.

Máster en Comunicación Científica, Médica y Ambiental 2013

La próxima sesión informativa de la 18a edición del Máster en Comunicación Científica, Médica y Ambiental del IdEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, tendrá lugar el próximo jueves 10 de enero en el Campus de la Comunicación-Poblenou de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
El máster se realizará del 4 febrero al 12 de diciembre de 2013 y cuenta con la colaboración del Observatorio de la Comunicación Científica (OCC) y de la Obra Social de la Fundació “La Caixa”.
